The Benefits of Garlic in Our Daily Diet and Free Recipes

Garlic are mostly consumed by people in the west is through garlic bread or in Italian foods and some of the thick soup. But the consumption level is still very low. Well recently we are seeing many 100% garlic based supplement which is selling like hot cake. In the second thoughts will it be more fresh and healthy in consuming the garlic as raw and fresh? I bet you the answer is YES!

First we need to learn up what is the best way in selecting good garlic and how to keep it fresh. When buying garlic, you need to choose those with a full cloves with skin on, when holding in hand, you can feel the weight and not those very light feeling ones. Also select those that has big cloves and firm, most important is do not buy those that are already in germination process and can see the green stem.

To keep it fresh for later use, you need to put all into a net and hang it over a airing place. When it is needed in cooking, just skinned it, wash it thoroughly and either cut into slices or mince it.

Well the main ingredients or nutrient in garlic are: protein, vitamin A, vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, iron, calcium, copper, selenium, tryptophan, phosphorus, and strong manganese. The benefits of consuming garlic are:

1. Helps in smoothing digestion

2. Kills bacteria and prevent cancer

3. Lowering blood pressure

4. Improve the body strength

5. Anti aging or aging prevention

6. Preventing flu

People with heavy gastric, ulcer and stomach problems are not suitable to consume garlic.

Delicious recipes in using garlic.Appetizer – Sliced pork with minced garlic
Ingredients:

380 gram Pork belly

10 gram Coriander

1 tablespoon each of thick soy sauce, minced garlic, chili oil

half tablespoon each of tomato sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, sugar

2 tablespoon of mineral water

1 teaspoon of sesame

Method:

1. Wash the coriander, chop it.

2. Mix up all the seasoning ingredients well.

3. Skinned the pork, wash thoroughly. Dip the pork into hot boiling water until it is cooked. Remove and dry it. Slice the pork belly thinly. Place it nicely on a plate and pour the mixed sauce ingredients on top, sprinkle the chopped coriander on and ready to serve.

If you like stronger garlic taste, you can top up the garlic portion to 2-3 tablespoon.
